                 The constellations


A constellation is a set of fixed stars or unrelated stars that form an imaginary pattern.There are 88 constellations.The Greeks discovered the constellations.

To find a constellation you have to be in a place with no light and no full moon, 

knowing the constellations can be of great help to quickly orient yourself.

Ursa Major’s history:

Ursa Major (also known as the Great Bear) is a constellation in the northern sky, whose associated mythology likely dates back into prehistory. Its Latin name means "greater (or larger) she-bear," referring to and contrasting it with nearby Ursa Minor, the lesser bear. In antiquity, it was one of the original 48 constellations listed by Ptolemy in the 2nd century AD. Today it is the third largest of the 88 modern constellations.

Ursa Major is visible throughout the year from most of the northern hemisphere. From southern temperate latitudes, the main asterism is invisible, but the southern parts of the constellation can still be viewed.

  · Big Bang The Universe we know nowadays began in a Big Bang about 14 billion years ago. The entire Universe was inside a bubble thousands of times smaller than a pinhead. Then, it suddenly exploded. The Universe was born. Time, space and was created. In less than a second, the Universe grew to a whole galaxy.  As the Universe expanded and grew it cooled and particles changed to matter and antimatter. These two types of particles destroyed each other, although some matter survived. More particles like neutrons, protons and atoms started to form when the Universe was one second old. Within the first seconds, the entire Universe’s temperature dropped 1 billion degrees Celsius and it was cold enough for the protons and neutrons to come together, forming hydrogen and helium nuclei. After 300 000 years, the Universe had cooled to about 3000 degrees.
